Are you a university student? Then you’ll understand the constant struggle between wanting to have a night off work to chill with friends and needing to tighten the purse strings!
The University of Essex have recognised their students’ struggle and offer a cheaper, more convenient alternative to the local Odeon; Cine10. Finding its home in the Lecture Theatre building, Cine10 is no ordinary lecture hall; it is a space equipped with a 2K projector, comfy seats and crisp full Dolby® 7.1 Surround Sound. Running throughout term, Cine10 shows the latest big blockbusters just a couple of weeks after main cinema release but for a fraction of the price. What’s more, the cinema also shows all old-time classics.
No cinema experience would be complete without something to munch on! The foyer offers a range of tasty snacks, including popcorn, sweets and chocolate.
Tonight, Cine10 are screening Hollywood block buster Marshall (starring Chadwick Boseman, Josh Gad and Kate Hudson). Following the story of the first African-American Supreme Court Justice, this promises to be a gripping watch. You can watch the film’s trailer here. To get everyone in a festive mood for the last week of term, Christmas classic Elf is being screened on December 8th.
So how much will a ticket cost you? Tickets are just £3.50 for University of Essex students, £3.00 for Film Society members. So if you’re an Essex student and think are desperate for a night off essay writing, why not get some friends together and plan a night at the silver screen?
Not an Essex student? Does your uni offer a similar cinema experience for students? If not, do you think they should? How do you and your friends like to spend your spare time on campus?
